Blended Learning
How do you quickly teach and certify your IT staff to prepare for a product release, when you are unable or unwilling to have the learners travel for training? Our client faced this reality of travel restrictions, limited budget and the pressure to certify their staff.
Working with our client we created a blended learning training program that provided a training environment for the learners to practice, accountability partners to ensure each learner was working through the self-paced content and virtual collaboration with the instructor and other students to prepare for the examination.
The result, a blended learning program including; self paced content, text books, virtual books, practice exams, virtual training environment with practice labs and virtual facilitation. Our client was able to successfully deploy the training program in time to teach and certify their IT staff in time for the product release. At the same time, our client was able to capture "tribal knowledge" about deploying the technology in their ‘real world’ environment.
Enterprise Learning
How do you scale and expand a highly successful classroom based training class when you only have one trainer who has the expertise and subject matter knowledge to deliver the program successfully? That was the challenge facing our Fortune 50 client and their 30,000 employees worldwide.
Working with our client we created a blended learning training program that captured the dynamic classroom discussion among the learners, the expertise and knowledge of the trainer and re-purposing their learning technology in a different way.
The result, a blended learning program including; podcasting, RSS feeds, self paced content, web collaboration and virtual facilitation. Our client was able to successfully deploy the training program using ‘real time’ information, mobile learning and knowledge management to expand the training program throughout the world.
Product Launch
All resources were working quickly to prepare to launch a new software product, but had not allocated time to create training for the end users. Beta and pilot training were scheduled, but no course materials or trainer materials had been created. To add to the problem, no one the staff had ever created training before.
We quickly assessed the product, learner demographic, market positioning, and existing reference material to create a training program for the end user. We had 4 weeks to create all course materials to support the beta training program; while at the same time, the software was being changed to accommodate last minute fixes and functionality.
The result, a successful beta training deployment, including train-the-trainer, trainer guide, participant guide, reference guide, simulations and practice exercises learners could use back on the job. The beta training was so successful, little changes were made for the pilot training and nationwide launch.
New Hire Orientation
Our healthcare client had en effective new hire orientation program, but it was not being utilized by most of the company. The company was hiring over 400 new employees per month, but had no consistent way of teaching new employees about the company.
We partnered with our client to determine why the new hire program was not being used by most of the company and how to effectively deliver training to a large number of people spread throughout the United States. We knew we wanted to use as much of the current course as possible, but needed to design a program that made the content applicable to the individual in a diverse and de-centralized corporation.
By creating a design team consisting of business unit representatives and reviewing each element of the current training program, we quickly identified the learning gaps and why the program was not being used. By leveraging existing learning technologies and subject matters throughout the company, we created a self-paced web based training program, but we didn’t stop there. We also partnered with our client to create communication and change management tools to ensure the program would be utilized and integrated into other businesses processes.
Technology Transformation
Our client had 1200 employees working at client sites throughout the US. Education and training was vital to ensure their employees remained compliant with statutes and their certifications current. The problem was their current Learning Management System and Learning Content Management System were constantly breaking down. They dedicated 100 of hours to keep the technology running, but could not sustain the effort much longer.
The client needed a partner who knew the technology industry, as well as, how to deploy enterprise learning. We partnered with our client to assess the current technology, identified criteria and matched their needs with the best technology that met their needs. We continued to support client by creating an RFP, managing the RFP process, and once the contract was signed, project managed the integration.
By partnering with our client from the beginning of the process, we were able to represent our client using their criteria and analyzing the LMS/LCMS space with a ‘vendor agnostic’ attitude. Our goal was to ensure our client succeeded and was happy with a technology they would need to live with for a very long time.
